Orange Boys Head to the Dominican Republic for Team USA

Three Orange youth baseball players — Easton Searles (10), Easton Gay, and Tristin Ticas — were selected out of 4,700 Texas kids to represent the USA in the Latin America Baseball Classic this August. Mayor Larry Spears Jr. recently honored all three.

Vidor Veteran Walking 1,000 Miles Across Texas for Diabetes

Christopher Smith, 44, a Marine Corps vet from Vidor and father of four, is trekking 1,000 miles across Texas to raise awareness for diabetes and disabled veterans — a cause born from his own diagnosis and PTSD recovery.

Orange Filmmaker Earns Statewide Media Arts Award

Penny LeLeux, founder of Barefoot on the Bayou Film Group and the Texas Film Belt Project, was named the 2026 Art Spark Texas Lynn Marie Johnson Media Arts Award winner for championing independent filmmaking in East Texas.
