Stark Museum's Open Studio Returns This Summer
The Stark Museum of Art is offering a free, drop-in Open Studio program every second Saturday through September, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The all-ages program features a different art medium each month — next up is Saturday, August 8, when visitors can create a playful three-dimensional portrait using construction paper. Free Community Supper Begins Tonight in Orange
Southeast Texas's unadjusted unemployment rate climbed to 6.2% in June — up 0.8 points from May's 5.4% — and now ranks 23rd out of 26 Texas metro areas, exceeding both the statewide rate of 4.9% and the national rate of 4.4%. The region's civilian labor force totaled 185,364, with 11,449 workers counted as unemployed. On the brighter side, more than 6,100 job openings were available across the area. Among local counties, Jefferson County recorded the highest rate at 6.6%, while Hardin County had the lowest at 5.2%. Read More
