Orange Mayor Reassures Residents — No Data Center Deal in the Works
After an agenda item at Tuesday's Orange City Council meeting sparked social media buzz, Mayor Larry Spears Jr. is setting the record straight: no company has approached the city about building a data center. "In the city of Orange, that's not happening," Spears said. Planning Director Kelvin Knauf confirmed the council presentation was purely informational — part of an effort to keep officials prepared for emerging development trends. Knauf noted that community concerns about data centers typically center on electricity and water demands.
