Lamar Cardinals Picked 3rd in Southland Conference Preseason Poll — and 20th Nationally
For the first time in program history, the Lamar University Cardinals open a season ranked in the STATS Perform Preseason Top 25, coming in at No. 20. The Cardinals also received a first-place vote in the Southland Conference poll, picked third overall behind SFA and Southeastern Louisiana. Coach Pete Rossomando enters his fourth year coming off a program-record 8-win season and an FCS playoff run. Season opener is August 29 vs. Abilene Christian. Read More
Flock License Plate Cameras Are Popping Up Around Orange County
Flock cameras — license plate readers that track vehicles and generate investigative leads — are a growing presence in Orange County. Orange currently has roughly 27 cameras spread across the city, Vidor shows 8, and the Orange County Sheriff's Dept. and Pinehurst are discussing adding more. Bridge City currently has none.
