Don't Fall for This Jury Duty Scam — OCSO Is Warning You

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is sounding the alarm after receiving more than six complaints about a phone scam targeting local residents. Callers claiming to be "Lt. Jacobs" from the Sheriff's Office tell victims they've missed jury duty and must make immediate payment to avoid arrest. The number 409-267-1679 has been flagged. The Sheriff's Office wants you to know: they will never ask for payment or credit card numbers over the phone. If you get a suspicious call, hang up and call the OCSO directly at 409-883-2612 to verify. Read More

Always a Bridesmaid Is Coming to Orange Community Players

Orange Community Players is bringing the hit Southern comedy Always a Bridesmaid to the stage this August, directed by Dexter Broussard. The show follows four lifelong friends who made a prom-night pact to be in each other's weddings — no matter what — and three decades later, they're still honoring it. Sabine River Shootout Is This Saturday at T2 Arena

The Orange County Livestock Show Association is hosting the Sabine River Shootout this Saturday, August 15, at T2 Arena & Event Center (3810 Old Peveto Road, Orange). Check-in runs 4–6 p.m., with the show starting at 7 p.m. Two rings run simultaneously — Ring 1 features small animals (swine, lambs, goats judged by Jeff Eichman), and Ring 2 features steers and heifers (judged by Jacob Diezi) across American, British, and Exotic cattle divisions. Competitors can win from a pool of 52 buckles and 38 banners, with class prizes also awarded on site. Entry is $40; showmanship is an additional $10. Cash and card accepted. Questions?
