OCSO Won't Move Forward with License Plate Reader Cameras
After a thorough review of costs, community concerns, and contract terms, Orange County Sheriff Bobby Smith announced his office will not pursue the license plate reader camera grant it applied for in May. No contract was signed and no equipment was deployed — Smith says the project simply wasn't an immediate priority, and OCSO wants to hear more from residents before revisiting anything similar.

Orange Community Players Launch 2026-2027 Season Memberships
The Orange Community Players are offering season memberships for their full 2026-2027 lineup — five shows including Always a Bridesmaid (Aug.), Misery (Oct.), Annie (Dec.), Last of the Red Hot Lovers (Feb.), and Four Old Broads (Apr.). Memberships start at $60 for students/veterans and $80 for individuals. Buy once, attend all season.
