2026 TEA School Accountability Ratings Are Out
The Texas Education Agency has released its 2026 A-F Accountability Ratings for public schools across the state. Of 1,202 districts and 9,105 campuses rated, 85% achieved acceptable academic performance (a C or above), and 24% of districts and campuses improved their rating from last year. On the encouraging side, 49% of high-poverty campuses earned an A or B — up from 47% in 2025 — and the statewide percentage of F-rated campuses declined. Stark Museum Launches Free SMA Playdate Series for Little Ones This Fall
Parents of little artists, mark your calendars! The Stark Museum of Art's popular SMA Playdate program returns September 11, kicking off a new season of free, drop-in art fun for children 5 and under and their grown-ups. Held the second Friday of each month from 10–11 a.m., each Playdate features a new art-inspired story plus hands-on activities covering music, movement, storytelling, and art-making. 15-Time Grammy Winner Ricky Skaggs Coming to the Lutcher This September
Country and bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs — 15-time Grammy Award winner and Country Music Hall of Fame inductee — is bringing his band Kentucky Thunder to the Lutcher Theater on Saturday, September 26, at 7 p.m. Chet Atkins once credited Skaggs with "single-handedly saving country music," and his live shows are known for electrifying performances rooted in authentic American bluegrass.
