Orange County Burn Ban Lifted
Good news for Orange County residents: County Judge John Gothia officially lifted the burn ban at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, following recent rainfall and improved weather conditions. Outdoor burning is once again permitted, though residents are encouraged to exercise caution — always attend any outdoor fire until fully extinguished, avoid burning on windy days, and keep water or a hose nearby. County officials will continue monitoring conditions and may reinstate restrictions if fire danger increases. Read More
Shangri La's Breakfast on the Bayou Returns This Fall
Shangri La Botanical Gardens is offering its popular Breakfast on the Bayou birding tours throughout September and October. These family-friendly early-morning outings take participants out on pontoon boats to explore the rich bird habitat of the gardens, with a bagged breakfast from a local vendor served dockside before departure. The boat leaves at approximately 7:30 a.m. and returns by 9:00 a.m. Children must be 4 or older. Tickets are $12 per person. The first tour is Monday, Sept. 8 — registration is open now.
