Texas Homeowners and Landowners Can Get Help Removing Invasive Plants

Texas property owners dealing with invasive plants have a new resource available. The Texas A&M Forest Service is now accepting applications for the Texas Invasive Plant Solutions (TIPS) Cost-Share Program, which covers 75% of eligible removal or treatment costs — up to $7,000 per landowner. A total of $140,000 in funding is available statewide on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligible treatments include mechanical control, chemical control, prescribed burning, and combination methods. All treatment plans must be approved by a local Texas A&M Forest Service forester or woodland ecologist before work begins. Funding is available until it runs out or June 1, with all work required to be completed before that date. For more information and to apply, visit tfsweb.tamu.edu/grants-financial-assistance/landowner-grants. Read More
