I Almost Threw Out My Keurig. It Wasn't Broken.

Every cup from my Keurig started tasting weak, flat, stale — so I unplugged it and stuck it in a closet. Then I learned the dirty secret of grocery store K-Cups: by the time a pod reaches your kitchen, it's usually spent months going from factory to warehouse to truck to shelf. The flavor oils are long gone. Some brands even over-roast to hide it.

The fix wasn't a new machine. It was fresh pods from Angelino's, a family-owned L.A. roastery that roasts, packs, and ships within 3–5 days — straight to your door, from 39¢ a cup. Over 1,000,000 happy customers. 50+ flavors, no subscription required, and 15% off your first order, applied automatically at checkout.

Orange County Is on a Roll — Bridge City Band Is Headed to State Too!

Hot on the heels of Orangefield’s big news, the Bridge City Cardinals Band is also headed to the State Marching Contest! The Cardinals performed last at 9:45 PM Saturday night in Longview — the final band to take the floor — and were announced as the 2nd-place finisher out of 21 competing bands. The top 7 advance to State, and Bridge City made it with room to spare. LCM also earned recognition as a Top 12 Finalist. Orange County had a great night on that stage — congratulations to both programs!

A 34-Acre Gift to LCMCISD — Foundation Donates Land to Benefit Future Students

The Crow Luna Foundation has donated 34 acres of land to Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD, a generous gift that will benefit students for generations. The district celebrated with a ribbon-cutting this week, with Superintendent Stacey Brister expressing gratitude for the investment in the community’s future. The property sits just west of the high school and opens the door to new possibilities for the district. This is the kind of community investment that makes Orange County special.

Facebook Plays Detective — Farm Stand Thieves Identified by the Community

Social media did what it does best this week in Mauriceville. Joann Weible posted a video showing two women pulling up to her roadside farm stand off Texla Road and helping themselves to nearly everything — jarred and baked goods included, one of the women wearing a walking boot. Within hours, the post had been shared hundreds of times on Facebook, and by that same evening, both women — one from Mauriceville and one from Gist — had been identified. Formal charges are expected. Orange County doesn’t miss much.
